THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE - Three Voices in Clay
Creativity is the journey from the spark of an idea in the brain to a tangible work of art. It is always a fascinating process where imagination and skill converge, transforming the artist’s thoughts into a visual expression as unique as the artists themselves. Clay, as the chosen medium of expression, with its tactile qualities, allows the artist to give physical shape to their thoughts and ideas, each using their unique voice. These three artists use similar materials to take them on an explorative journey. The results are varied but connected.Layl McDill creates sculptures with a sensation of story from polymer clay and found objects.
Jamie Zavoral-Brown builds sculptural clay pieces that tell stories about the natural environment.
Glenna Veater creates sculptures that tell stories using the female figure to convey her thoughts and feelings.
